We feature one of the
largest selections of radar detectors available on the
Internet.
Our selection includes wholesale and discount prices on
products from all of the major radar detector brands:
Bel, Cobra, Escort, PNI, and Whistler Radar Detectors.
Radar detectors are currently illegal in passenger
vehicles in Virginia and Washington, DC. There is a
federal law banning use of radar detectors in any
commercial vehicle over 10,000 pounds. Radar detectors
are also illegal on any military base.
All radar detector models that we carry will detect the
following frequency ranges:
X-band: 10.525 GHz +/- 25 MHz
K-band: 24.150 GHz +/- 100 MHz
Ka-Band: 34.700 GHz +/- 1300 MHz
Laser: 904nm, 33 MHz bandwidth
Some models that we carry, such as the Bel 995, and the
Bel RX65, will also detect the Ku band. The following is
the Ku band range:
Ku-Band: 13.400 GHz +/- 25 MHz |

Are
Radar Detectors Legal? |
|
|
Getting down to the legal issues of
radar detectors is pretty cut and dry. Radar detectors are
illegal in the District of Columbia and Virginia. Radar
detectors are also illegal on military bases. As far as radar
and laser jammers are concerned, they are illegal in Minnesota,
Virginia, Utah, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and California.
Are radar detectors legal in New York?
Yes! Radar detectors are completely legal to use in
non-commercial vehicles in 49 states. Virginia and Washington DC
are the only places in the United States that currently ban
radar detectors. Radar detector use in commercial vehicles has
been prohibited in the U.S. since 1995 and radar detectors are
also illegal in most Canadian provinces. We do not track
detector regulations in other countries.
The answer is YES! Radar detectors are completely legal to
use in the UK and evidence taken from a MORI poll between radar
detector users and non-radar detector users concluded that
people who own them are less likely to have an accident.
Radar Detectors have been designed to help you drive in the
confines of today's ever changing speed limits. They are not a
licence to speed. Always remember that speed limits have been
set for the safety of all road users. However, drivers should be
made aware of the speed limit before they commit an offence.
